We all know
about root cause analysis and performance improvement
plans; about new ideas for efficiency and
state-of-the-art training programs. But the long-term
success of any of these plans are dependent upon the
relationships among the teams implementing them.
Over the past
several years the Training Within Industry (TWI)
movement has re-emerged in the American workforce. Where
Job Instruction Training (JIT) gets a lot of attention
for its standardized work instruction and Job Methods
Training (JMT) helps companies make huge strides in
improving methods of doing that work, Job Relations is
the key to making relationships within those companies
strong. JR provides a key factor to individual learning
and growing that must happen when supervisors and
managers move upward in any organization. While
foundational in nature, the concepts that JR teaches can
mean the difference between success and failure with
other training programs.
Jodee Bock,
owner of Bock’s Office Transformational Consulting in
Fargo, ND, will present examples of the foundations JRT
has provided for improvements in culture, relationships
and attitudes in several organizations.
